Lady Gaga Releases ‘Disease,’ the 1st Single From Her Upcoming 7th Album
Lady Gaga has introduced a new era in her music career with the release of "Disease," an electro-pop single from her upcoming seventh album. Released on Friday, October 25, the track features lyrics focusing on healing and features contributions from writers Michael Polansky, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Gaga herself, with the latter three also serving as producers. The upbeat, gothic-themed single illustrates Gaga's lyrical portrayal of curing a lover's "tortured" disease.
Earlier in the week, Gaga had built anticipation by teasing the release on streaming platforms and unveiling a playlist that covertly spelled out "Disease." The announcement was further confirmed with a pre-save link shared by her label, Universal Music. On October 21, Gaga revealed the global release schedule on her Instagram, following it with a teaser video depicting a compelling narrative scene.
Gaga's seventh album, slated for release in the spring of 2025, garnered speculation starting from July, when she alluded to the new project. She celebrated her 38th birthday in March by expressing gratitude for her own health and music, teasing releases throughout the year such as the duet "Die With a Smile" with Bruno Mars and the Joker sequel companion album, Harlequin.
Consistent expressions of gratitude towards her fans have marked this journey, with Gaga pointing to the transformative power of music and thanking supporters for their enduring love. Reflecting on her ongoing creative projects in a peaceful state, Gaga shared in July her excitement for fans to hear what she has been crafting, firmly establishing her role in bringing impactful music to life.
