Leighton Meester Debuts Red Mermaid Hair at 2025 SAG Awards
Actress Leighton Meester premiered her auburn locks at the 2025 SAG Awards on February 23. This stylish event took place at the Shine Auditorium in Los Angeles. At 38, Meester showcased her red hair in sweeping side-part mermaid waves.
For her outfit, Meester chose a stunning black-and-white strapless cut-out gown from Elie Saab. She complemented her attire with an elegant necktie and pearl earrings. Her husband, Adam Brody, 45, matched her style in a brown Prada suit and tie. This event marked a special date night for the couple, who share a nine-year-old daughter, Arlo, and a four-year-old son whose name they have yet to reveal.
Their public appearance coincided with the news that Meester will join the cast of Brody’s Netflix series, "Nobody Wants This." PEOPLE confirmed she will portray Abby, a middle school rival to Kristen Bell’s character, Joanne, who has evolved into an "Instagram mommy influencer," as indicated by Variety.
This role represents another opportunity for Meester and Brody to share the screen. Their previous collaborations include 2023's "River Wild" and Brody's recurring role in her ABC sitcom "Single Parents." The excitement for Meester's participation is amplified given the chemistry exhibited between Brody and Bell. Brody described their intimate scene as "the greatest of all time" in a November interview with PEOPLE.
Despite the sizzling onscreen tension, Meester has no qualms. In a statement to Access Hollywood, she expressed her approval of their headline-making kiss, calling it "great" and claiming she didn't "mind" it. Brody added that his wife taught him everything he knows about performance. "She gets the good stuff. That's not even the A-material," he playfully told the outlet.
Both Meester and Brody faced competition at the SAG Awards. Brody competed for best actor in a comedy series but lost to Martin Short from "Only Murders in the Building." Bell was also nominated for her role; however, Jean Smart won best actress in a comedy series for "Hacks," leaving both actors without awards that night.
