Luann de Lesseps Celebrates Cabaret Career Over Reality TV
Luann de Lesseps expresses gratitude for her successful cabaret career. She emphasizes, "Thank God, because TV gigs are rare." At a cocktail event hosted by Jennifer Behr and New York Vintage, the reality star shared her experience.
De Lesseps, known from the original "Real Housewives of New York," highlighted the delayed financial benefits of reality television. "It takes years for women to profit from 'Housewives.' Nobody makes money in the beginning," she stated.
The 59-year-old has built an impressive cabaret act over the years. She is excited to take her show to London and Australia next year. "Cabaret is thriving, and my November show at Sony Hall is sold out," she shared.
Despite her cabaret success, de Lesseps maintains a connection to reality TV. She recently completed filming "Love Hotel" with fellow housewives Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, and Shannon Beador. This season met with controversy after host Joel Kim Booster accused Beador on social media. He called her behavior "subhuman" and expressed a wish for her to "suffer."
Booster later deleted his post and apologized, citing an onset conflict affecting his judgment. He expressed regret for letting negativity influence his words. De Lesseps, friends with Beador, found the situation disheartening but highlighted the importance of forgiveness. "He apologized, and people make mistakes, don’t they?" she noted.
