Maika Monroe Stars in Colleen Hoover's Reminders of Him Movie Adaptation
Universal Pictures announced that Maika Monroe will headline the film adaptation of Reminders of Him. This adaptation is based on Colleen Hoover's 2022 novel, which has gained considerable popularity.
Maika Monroe will portray the protagonist, Kenna Rowan. Kenna is a young mother released from prison, seeking to reconnect with her 4-year-old daughter. The film, first announced in October, is set to premiere on February 13, 2026.
Beyond Monroe's casting, other vital details about the adaptation have emerged. Vanessa Caswill will direct the project, while Colleen Hoover and Lauren Levine are responsible for the screenplay. Both are also producing under Heartbones Entertainment, alongside Gina Matthews from Little Engine Productions. Additionally, Robin Fisichella will be the executive producer.
Colleen Hoover has been prolific, with multiple adaptations underway. The film version of Regretting You is due for a theatrical release this October and is currently casting.
Also in progress is the movie adaptation of Verity, with plans for a 2026 release. Filming has already begun, featuring notable actors like Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett, who were recently seen in New York.
As for the Verity adaptation directed by Michael Showalter, Hoover expressed enthusiasm about the project. In an August episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, she revealed, "I just read the script. I’m super excited about it."
