Meghan Markle Honors Princess Diana in Northwestern Sweatshirt While Enjoying the Weekend
Meghan Markle recently made a heartfelt tribute to Princess Diana by wearing a purple Northwestern University sweater. This particular garment was famously worn by Diana during the last years of her life, PEOPLE reported.
On February 23, Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, posted an Instagram Story showing her weekend activities. Dressed in the purple crewneck, she provided a phase of her personal life. Meghan studied at Northwestern University from 1999 to 2003.
The connection to Princess Diana is poignant. Diana visited the university in June 1996, during which she wore the same sweater. This occurrence happened two decades before Meghan met her husband, Prince Harry. During her visit, Diana engaged with students and visited a local hospital. Notably, she was photographed in the sweater while leaving the Chelsea Harbour Club in London, paired with white biker shorts and sneakers.
Among her Instagram content, Meghan shared an endearing scene with one of her children, either Prince Archie, age 5, or Princess Lilibet, age 3. While she watered the garden under the Californian sun, a child's hand reached in to help her hold the hose.
This weekend glimpse into her family life came as Meghan took a break. She posted a video of herself walking in slippers in her backyard, captioning it, "Small break from work to soak in the weekend ☀️."
As Meghan enjoys her family time, she is also busy with upcoming projects. Her new Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan," is set to launch soon. The show will premiere on March 4 and features Meghan undertaking various tasks, such as cooking and arranging flowers.
In connection with her upcoming series, her Instagram also displayed videos of her picking and squeezing oranges into a glass.
Her weekend included appreciating the first blooms of spring. Meghan also took a stroll with her beagle, Mamma Mia, whom she and Harry adopted in August 2022. She recently shared a tribute to her other beagle, Guy, who passed away in January. "Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy," Megan wrote.
As the show’s premiere approaches, actress Mindy Kaling discussed her experience participating in the series. She mentioned how Meghan's tips improved her limited skills in entertaining.
"I love cooking, but I’m really not good at entertaining," Kaling shared with TIME last week. She acknowledged that Meghan has an innate understanding of how to create the right ambience for gatherings.
Additionally, Kaling elaborated on events for kids, emphasizing her usual method of purchasing party supplies. "It was fun to learn simple ways to do a homemade kids’ party," she noted.
Amid the excitement for her show and lifestyle brand, Meghan detailed her journey and passions. In a recent Instagram video, she shared an update about her brand, As Ever, inviting followers to engage with her ventures.
"As Ever signifies consistency over the years," she explained, connecting with fans from her earlier platform, The Tig. "I love cooking, crafting, and gardening — that’s my world."
She promises to include many of her favorite products, including her well-known fruit preserves. "So many more products that I just love are on the way. I can’t wait for you to see it. Thanks, guys!"
