Michael Lohan Arrested for Alleged Assault on Kate Major
Michael Lohan, the father of Lindsay Lohan, was arrested on Saturday, February 22. Reports from sources like People, TMZ, and Page Six confirm his arrest stems from allegations of assaulting his estranged wife, Kate Major. He was detained without incident in Harris County, Texas, facing a felony charge for "continuous violence against the family."
Reports indicate Major visited a hospital on February 21, where she complained of pain. During her visit, she informed police that Michael had allegedly flipped her out of a chair several days prior, leading to visible bruising, as noted by a female deputy.
Michael's bail was set at $30,000. Us Weekly has reached out to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for official comments.
In response to the allegations, Michael Lohan denied wrongdoing in a statement to TMZ on Sunday. "I’ve remained quiet about Kate's physical, emotional, and verbal abuse," he claimed. "She set me up. Initially, she claimed I was stalking her. Then when that didn’t work, she accused me of pushing her over a chair, which is a complete fabrication. My children can testify, as can the videos I possess." As of now, Major has yet to respond publicly to Michael's claims.
Michael and Kate, who married in 2014, have two sons, Landon, 12, and Logan, 10. They had a rocky relationship, with Major filing for divorce in 2018. Michael shares four children with his ex-wife, Dina Lohan, including Lindsay Lohan.
Their marriage has seen significant struggles. In June 2024, Kate Major faced arrest for breaching a protective order after a confrontation with Michael, as reported by TMZ. Prior to this, Michael was arrested in February 2020 in Southampton, New York. The police reported that the domestic incident transpired at their residence, but Michael's arrest occurred two miles away on Main Street, where he was taken into custody without issues.
He faced charges for "misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation (choking)" along with second-degree harassment according to the Southampton Police Department.
