New leak suggests brighter display and ultra wideband chip for future Pixel Watch 3
According to a recent report from Android Authority, there are exciting advancements rumored for Google's upcoming smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3. The leak suggests that the device will feature a brighter 2,000-nit display with reduced bezels and the inclusion of an ultra wideband (UWB) chip. Additionally, the Pixel Watch 3 might come with a significant battery upgrade compared to its predecessors. The rumored 45mm model is said to boast a 420mAh battery, while the 41mm variant will have a 310mAh capacity. This is reported by SSP.
Further supporting these rumors, an FCC filing over the weekend appeared to confirm the inclusion of a UWB chip in the Pixel Watch 3. UWB technology utilizes short, high-frequency wireless bursts for highly accurate location tracking. This means that the Pixel Watch 3 could be easily located through Google's Find My Device network, which recently received upgrades. UWB chips are becoming increasingly prevalent in devices such as smart locks and cars, enabling seamless interactions when a UWB device is nearby.
Assuming these speculations hold true, the Pixel Watch 3 would introduce notable enhancements to the series. Similar to the Pixel Watch 2, which saw improvements in health tracking and battery life, the incorporation of a UWB chip and a brighter screen would mark notable progress. However, it remains uncertain if the previous concerns regarding the single size option, weight, and durability of the previous model will be addressed in the Pixel Watch 3. Nonetheless, considering these potential advancements, there is cause for optimism and anticipation for what the Pixel Watch 3 has in store.
