News Anchor Ana Orsini Dies at 28
Arizona news anchor Ana Orsini was recently honored on-air by colleagues following her unexpected death due to a brain aneurysm. Tuscon news anchor Ana Orsini is fondly remembered by her work family.
The journalist reported for local CBS affiliate KOLD-TV and passed away at just 28 years old, as announced by her colleagues during a broadcast on Dec. 16. According to reports, Orsini’s cause of death was identified as a brain aneurysm.
"Sad news to share with you," anchor Tyler Butler stated during the broadcast. "Our beloved friend and co-anchor Ana Orsini passed away unexpectedly last week."
Co-anchor Carsyn Currier, visibly emotional, shared, "Ana had been here at 13 News since June of 2023, and we are devastated by this loss."
Butler provided comfort to Currier as he reflected on Orsini’s vibrant personality.
"We worked with her every day," he said. "We want you to know that the funny, crazy person you saw on-air was exactly who she was off-camera, and even more so."
Orsini started her journalism career in 2018 after graduating from Texas A&M University. Her first role was as an anchor and reporter in Lubbock, Texas. Over the next three years, she served as a morning and midday anchor in Medford, Oregon, before joining KOLD-TV in Tuscon, Arizona.
Butler dedicated a heartfelt tribute to Orsini on social media, describing her as "a force of nature."
"I remember making a self-deprecating joke," he recalled in a Facebook post on Dec. 17. "Ana would snap, ‘Hey! Don’t talk about my friend like that!’ Her genuine care will truly be missed."
Currier also expressed her sorrow about Orsini, referring to her as "one of my best friends."
"Waking up in the middle of the night to go to work is always challenging," she stated on Instagram. "But knowing I’d be working with Ana made it easier. Whether she was dancing around the set or making us laugh, every day was an adventure with Ana."
"Time may pass, but my memories of Ana will never fade," Currier added. "I love you forever, Ana."
