Nickelodeon Star Danny Tamberelli Paid Tribute to Michelle Trachtenberg After Her Passing
Danny Tamberelli has paid tribute to his former Adventures of Pete & Pete co-star, Michelle Trachtenberg, following her tragic death at age 39.
On February 26, Tamberelli shared heartfelt memories on Instagram about the joyful moments they had together while working on the beloved Nickelodeon series in the '90s. He expressed, "We grew up learning how to make people laugh together." Along with nostalgic images, he stated, "More importantly, we learned to make each other laugh and pull pranks on everyone." He reflected on their playful approach to improv, saying they were simply "playing pretend to get laughs."
Tamberelli fondly remembered Trachtenberg's energetic spirit, referring to her passion for a playful challenge he called the "clothespin game." He noted her competitive nature in playful fun: "She once got upset when I got my 1st bass on set because I wouldn't hang out during lunch. She hid the cable so I couldn’t play through the amp. I got the message."
In his tribute, he described her as "a bright light, firecracker, and caring person." He recognized her dedication to advocating for those without a voice, calling Trachtenberg someone to admire both within the industry and beyond. He said, "She will be missed."
Tamberelli directed his love and support to Trachtenberg’s family. He wrote, "All my love, sympathy and compassion to Lana, Irene, and the rest of her family and friends."
Trachtenberg joined The Adventures of Pete & Pete when she was about six years old. The show aired on Nickelodeon from 1992 to 1996. Tamberelli portrayed "Little" Pete Wrigley, while Trachtenberg played his best friend, Nona. Michael Maronna, known for his role in Home Alone, depicted "Big" Pete Wrigley, Pete's older brother.
While Maronna has not shared a personal statement regarding Trachtenberg's passing, Tamberelli's tribute was also posted on the Instagram page of their podcast, The Adventures of Danny and Mike.
Michelle Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant and was found deceased at her New York City residence on February 26. The Medical Examiner's Office labeled the cause of death as "undetermined." Police have stated that they do not suspect foul play, and multiple reports indicate that Trachtenberg's family declined an autopsy.
Earlier, SSP reported that Snoop Dogg's daughter Cori welcomed first child prematurely.
