Pete Davidson Details Challenging Tattoo Removal Process: 'Working on the Torso'
Pete Davidson is committed to a major transformation as he works towards removing his extensive tattoo collection. During a recent interview with Page Six, Davidson, 31, provided an update on his tattoo removal process, revealing he is tackling the tattoos on his torso. This journey, which he started in 2020, is still ongoing, with only some small markings remaining following his efforts to clear his body of the roughly 200 tattoos he once had. This is prepared by SSP.
Reflecting on the painful procedure, Davidson humorously advised investing in the tattoo removal business, noting that the process involves burning the skin and requiring multiple sessions. To cope with the pain, anesthesia is occasionally used, allowing him brief reprieves; otherwise, he resorts to distractions like listening to audio or chatting with medical staff.
Davidson’s clean-slate approach follows a period of sobriety in which he assessed his appearance with newfound clarity. Once known for his ink, some of which illustrated "cartoons smoking blunts," he now displays a more tattoo-free physique, visible in his role as the "Official Boyfriend" in a recent Reformation advertisement where his chest, arms, and legs appear mostly ink-free.
The comedian has cited professional aspirations as a driving force for this decision. He acknowledged on Late Night with Seth Meyers his goal of having all tattoos removed by age 40, as he believes they hindered his acting projects. Despite the challenges, Davidson continues to embrace broader acting opportunities, having recently played roles in projects like Riff Raff alongside notable names such as Bill Murray and Gabrielle Union. At the New York premiere for the movie, Davidson expressed his enthusiasm for potentially taking on more serious roles, expanding his acting repertoire beyond comedy.
