Pete Davidson Is Okay With Dominant Women—Here Is Why
Pete Davidson enjoys being around strong and assertive women, a preference he credits to growing up in a household dominated by females. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on January 31, the SNL alum, 31, discussed his dating tendencies. He shared, "I’m the girl, I think, whenever I’m in a relationship," noting that while some men might be shy, he appreciates a woman making the first move. Davidson added, "I do [like assertive women], because I grew up [with] all ladies in the house, so I act pretty feminine." This is prepared by SSP.
Davidson's romantic history features notable figures such as Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline. Despite these high-profile relationships, Davidson expressed frustration over the public's interest in his love life overshadowing his career. While talking with Jon Berthnal on the Real Ones podcast in March 2023, he remarked on how media attention distorted his image during his SNL years, stating that being in the limelight for dating seemed unfair when compared to his professional efforts.
Commenting further in December 2024 with W Magazine, Davidson reflected on the impact of dating in the public eye. "I got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel. It was a long time coming, and I needed it. I’m very happy where I am right now, mentally," he stated. Going forward, Davidson wants to be recognized for his work, not just his relationships: "I just want to be known for doing good work. I want to be out there only when it’s movies, stand-up, charity, or business ventures."
