Prince Harry Attends ‘Friend’ Art Exhibition Launch After Addressing Divorce Speculation

Prince Harry attended the VIP cocktail reception for the new exhibition "Friend (A Survey of Op Art & Minimalism)." This event aims to raise funds for Sentebale, the charity he cofounded in 2006.

At the event on Wednesday, December 4, Harry looked sharp in a tailored suit and a white dress shirt. Held at the Ki Smith Gallery in New York City, he engaged with guests and introduced a panel discussion that explored art's impact on society.

Friend, opening to the public on December 14, features works from notable artists such as Bridget Riley, Frank Stella, Tadaaki Kuwayama, Alana Dee Haynes, Dylan Reitz-Cruz, and Sono Kuwayama. All proceeds from the exhibition will support Sentebale, which focuses on helping young people in Southern Africa achieve health, economic empowerment, and climate resilience.

"We are deeply grateful to Ki for curating this remarkable exhibition. Traveling with us to Lesotho and South Africa in October allowed us to see firsthand the impact of Sentebale’s work," Harry expressed. "Thank you to the incredible artists for lending their talents to our cause."

Just hours before this intimate cultural gathering, Prince Harry addressed rumors of marital discord with Meghan Markle. He playfully remarked, "Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?"

During the New York Times DealBook Summit, host Andrew Ross Sorkin questioned Harry about the public's interest in his marriage and the couple's recent separate appearances.

"Why aren’t you doing these events together?" Sorkin prompted. Harry responded, "Because you invited me, you should have known!"

Sorkin acknowledged this with a nod. "Is that normal for you? When an article appears — she’s in California, you’re in New York — speculation around your relationship arises, right? Does this public curiosity benefit you?"

"That’s definitely not a good thing," Harry replied candidly.

He further elaborated, "It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you sort of ignore it. I feel most sorry for the trolls. Their hopes build up, and when nothing happens, I pity them. Genuinely, I do."
