Rampage Jackson Backs Tyson Over Jake Paul Despite Health Concerns
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson shows unwavering confidence in Mike Tyson ahead of the highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul, writes TMZ. Despite Tyson's recent health scare in May, the retired UFC star remains a strong supporter of the former heavyweight champion.
In a recent conversation at LAX, Jackson shared his thoughts on the November 15 showdown between the 58-year-old Tyson and the 27-year-old Paul. Although Tyson faced an ulcer flare-up, causing a fight reschedule from summer, Jackson remains adamant about his support.
"He's my favorite boxer," said Rampage. He acknowledged the reality of aging but emphasizes that he won't bet against Tyson. "Father Time is undefeated," he noted, but he believes Tyson's experience and skills can prevail. " Anything can happen in the boxing ring," he added. "But I ain't gonna go against Mike Tyson."
Jackson was also questioned about Tyson's recent comments on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," where Tyson joked about the possibility of fighting while high. Rampage offered a more cautious stance, stating, "I don’t know about that." He thinks Tyson might just be joking.
Rampage feels that fighters shouldn’t use marijuana before a match, believing it detracts from performance. Ultimately, he trusts Tyson to have enough grit, whether high or not, to decisively handle Paul. Jackson expressed confidence that Tyson is capable of "shutting that kid up."
