Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are officially engaged after dating for one year. Romance rumors between the two sparked in 2023.

Selena broke the exciting news on December 11. She posted photos on Instagram showing a marquise-cut diamond ring. She embraced her fiancé while stating, "Forever begins now."

Benny Blanco reassured everyone about their engagement. He commented, "Hey wait… that’s my wife." Their engagement announcement made waves online.

It seems that Benny proposed during a picnic date. Selena shared a picture admiring her ring on a blanket, surrounded by Taco Bell and a wicker basket.

The couple began dating in summer 2023 and later went public. This engagement comes nearly two decades after their first introduction and five years after collaborating on "I Can’t Get Enough."

Benny, professionally known as Benjamin Joseph Levin, shared memories in an April interview. He recalled meeting Selena as one of her major meetings. This meeting occurred around the time she left Disney to create her own music.

Benny remarked, "It was a big meeting at the time... She’s the best." Surprisingly, their romantic connection sparked while working on Selena's "Single Soon," released in August 2023.

A few months after beginning their relationship, Selena revealed on social media that Benny "is my absolute everything." This message confirmed that their love story had lasted for six months.

Benny shared how surprising their romance was. In May, he told Howard Stern about their first date. He didn’t realize it was a date when Selena asked him to hang out. Benny was surprised when Selena remarked about her attire for the occasion.

From this spontaneous outing, they became inseparable. Benny expressed his admiration, stating, "She’s truly my best friend. We laugh all f--king day. She inspires me."

As they grew closer, Benny expressed a desire for family. On The Howard Stern Show, he said, "I want to have kids. That’s the next goal." He enjoys spending time with children and already has many godkids and nephews.

Before meeting Benny, Selena embraced her single life. She reflected on her past relationship with Justin Bieber and her time spent alone. "I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it," she told Time.

Selena had even contemplated adopting at age 35 if she remained single. Benny's arrival changed her perspective: "It just happens when you least expect it."
