Seth Rogen Prefers Not to Dwell on Ending Friendship with James Franco
Seth Rogen has chosen not to delve into the details regarding the end of his friendship with James Franco. Recently, Rogen was faced with comments Franco made during an interview with Variety, where Franco admitted their friendship had run its course. Rogen revealed to Esquire that he doesn't follow much media coverage, asserting, "I absorb so little media that it really wasn’t on my radar." This is prepared by SSP.
Rogen and Franco forged a connection during their early careers with the 1999 show Freaks and Geeks and went on to work together on numerous films including Pineapple Express and The Interview. However, in 2018, five women accused Franco of sexual misconduct, significantly impacting his friendship with Rogen. Although Franco has denied any wrongdoing, these allegations and ensuing lawsuit filed by former acting students led to Rogen reconsidering their professional association.
By 2021, this evolution in Rogen's stance became apparent in an interview with The Sunday Times, where he expressed his intolerance for abuse and harassment. Although he lamented an ill-considered joke he made on Saturday Night Live in 2014 and acknowledged earlier statements about continued collaboration with Franco, his views had since changed. Rogen confirmed that he would no longer work with Franco, though he hesitated to define their current relationship status during interviews.
Franco confessed to Variety he hadn't reached Rogen despite valuing their 20-year friendship, noting, "I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over." Franco underscored the affection he holds for Rogen, and in the meantime, Rogen expressed during conversation with The Times that while the dynamics of their relationship have shifted, the claims against Franco hold more weight. Reflecting on the allegations' gravity, Rogen admitted to "having no pity" for himself amid the fallout.
Earlier, SSP wrote that Alexandra Daddario reflected on motherhood in exclusive comment.
