Sia Privately Welcomed Baby with Husband Dan Bernard Months Before Divorce Filing

Singer Sia and her estranged husband, Dan Bernard, welcomed their baby, Somersault Wonder Bernard, on March 27, 2024, coinciding with her divorce filing.

Sia’s journey into motherhood continues steadily. The "Chandelier" singer's recent court documents reveal that she welcomed a baby shortly before filing for legal separation from Dan.

Sia is requesting both legal and physical custody of Somersault. However, she is open to Dan having visitation rights, as indicated in the paperwork obtained by E! News.

In the filing, Sia disclosed her marriage to Dan took place on December 28, 2022. She stated their separation date as March 18, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split.

News of Sia's third child arrives five years after her adoption of two teenage boys. These boys were aging out of the foster care system. In May 2020, Sia shared insights on SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up. She expressed the boys faced adjustment challenges yet engaged in positive, educational activities.

Shortly after, Sia disclosed that she became a grandmother when her youngest son had twins. During a July 2020 interview with Zane Lowe, she exclaimed, "I’m a f--king grandma!" She humorously mentioned the surprise of it all while receiving this new title.

Sia wishes to emulate Kris Jenner’s matriarchal title. She shared, "They call me 'Nana.' I’m trying to get them to call me Lovey."

Before her relationship with Dan, Sia, full name Sia Furler, was previously married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang from 2014 until their divorce in 2016. Following that separation, the "Unstoppable" hitmaker concentrated on her directorial debut, Music, in 2021.

Reflecting on her journey, Sia mentioned gaining courage after divorce. In a 2020 appearance on Variety’s Power of Women: Conversations YouTube series, she reflected on her painful previous relationship and the impact it had on her self-confidence.
