Snoop Dogg to Host NFL Honors in New Orleans Before Super Bowl Sunday
Snoop Dogg has been chosen to host the NFL Honors on Thursday, February 6, at Saenger Theater in New Orleans. This primetime awards show will recognize outstanding players, performances, and plays from the 2024 NFL season in honor of the upcoming 2025 Super Bowl, PEOPLE reported.
The NFL Honors has been held annually since 2012. This year, it will feature several notable awards, including the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. It will also announce the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Additionally, awards from the Associated Press will be given out, such as the AP Comeback Player of the Year, AP Coach of the Year, and AP Most Valuable Player.
At 52 years old, Snoop Dogg won over audiences last summer as a host for NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. His charisma resonated globally, capturing attention in a major sporting context. He also had the honor of carrying the Olympic torch during its final leg leading up to the Paris opening ceremony.
Reflecting on this unexpected opportunity, Snoop stated, "Never, never, never… it was never in my things to do because it was beyond me." Sharing his thoughts with PEOPLE, he emphasized how this experience allowed him to prove himself in a unique setting.
