Sofia Richie Shares Adorable Moments With Baby Eloise During Elliot Grainge's Birthday Celebration
Sofia Richie Grainge recently offered a charming glimpse into her life with baby Eloise. This came during a special post for her husband Elliot Grainge’s 31st birthday. The post featured touching family moments, including a photo of Eloise in a ladybug outfit.
The 26-year-old welcomed Eloise Samantha Grainge in May with Elliot. For Elliot’s birthday, Sofia highlighted sweet family moments, showcasing their bond as a trio.
In one photograph shared to Sofia’s Instagram Story on November 6, Elliot was seen on the ground reading the children’s book How To Spot A Unicorn to close to their 5-month-old daughter. Eloise cuddled contentedly between his arms. Sofia captioned the image with a teary-eyed emoji, expressing her admiration: "Greatest dad."
There was also a delightful group selfie featuring Sofia, Elliot, and Eloise. The family enjoyed a beautiful sunny day in their front yard. In this snapshot, Sofia sported a white tee and black sunglasses, while Elliot wore a sky blue sweater and gray pants. Beneath the photo, she expressed her love for her husband: "We love you so much!"
Motherhood has influenced Sofia in various ways, evident as she announced an upcoming baby line with Amazon. Eloise modeled a cozy top and bottom set adorned with charming cartoon ladybugs. Sofia teased that the baby clothes would be "coming soon" for others to "enjoy this cuteness as well."
While Sofia cherishes these blissful family moments, she has also openly discussed the challenges she faced to reach this point. "I had a great pregnancy up until about 32 weeks," she shared on the October 15 episode of the She MD podcast. She recounted that one morning, she felt particularly tired and uncomfortable, prompting her to text her doctor.
Instead of the expected reassurances, Sofia received surprising advice. Her doctor recommended visiting a fetal specialist to check on her condition, which led to unforeseen developments.
At the hospital, doctors found that Sofia was in active labor, resulting in a six-night hospital stay and an additional six weeks of labor that culminated in finally having Eloise. Unfortunately, her challenges did not cease there.
Upon returning home, Sofia experienced severe swelling and illness. "I blew up like a balloon," she stated. After monitoring her condition, her doctor discovered that she had high blood pressure, with readings alarming enough to warrant concern.
Sofia later learned she was experiencing postpartum preeclampsia, a serious condition characterized by high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine after childbirth. Despite another brief but challenging hospital visit, she has since returned home and expressed relief: she is "finally feeling like myself again."
