Spencer Pratt is finding a silver lining after losing his home in the Los Angeles wildfires, PEOPLE reported. In a recent interview, the reality TV star disclosed his revenue from TikTok, which he described as "life-changing." With the disaster affecting both him and his wife, Heidi Montag Pratt, he found encouragement through the support of fans.
"I made about $4,000 on TikTok this week. However, on TikTok LIVE, where fans can give directly, I think maybe $20,000. It’s phenomenal and life-changing," Spencer revealed in a conversation with Variety published on January 17. He emphasized, "That’s the power of individual supporters. Actual human beings just want to give – it's incredible."
On January 17, Spencer's TikTok account reached two million followers. He gained nearly one million new followers after increasing his uploads. The videos have focused on his recovery after losing his California home with Heidi.
Spencer and Heidi have been open about their feelings regarding the wildfires, sharing the heartbreak of losing their home where they lived with sons Ryker, 2, and Gunner, 6. In a recent TikTok, Spencer expressed his determination to maintain a positive outlook amid the tragedy.
"What we’re experiencing feels like an out-of-body experience," he reflected. Despite the trauma, he stated, "I’m being optimistic because it’s truly the only way to get through this."
Furthermore, Spencer has utilized his TikTok platform to encourage fans to stream Heidi’s album "Superficial," which recently topped the iTunes chart after its 15th-anniversary reissue on January 11. "When everything was going on, I got an email that the album was going live. I quickly made a TikTok to remind everyone to stream it," he mentioned.
However, Spencer remains uncertain about the album's current revenue. "I really have no idea how much money it has made," he admitted, but stressed his excitement for the energy around the album, saying, "Based on what people tell me, the music business is about tours, merchandise, and the opportunities that come with it."
Spencer anticipates selling "Superficial" T-shirts. He reported getting 5,000 orders from fans already, adding positive direction during these challenging times.
