Travis Kelce and Jason Sudeikis Reflect on Taylor Swift’s Memorable 2009 SNL Appearance
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, shared insights about his girlfriend Taylor Swift on the "New Heights" podcast co-hosted with his brother, Jason Kelce. Joined by actor Jason Sudeikis, they reminisced about Sudeikis' favorite moments from "Saturday Night Live."
Sudeikis mentioned a memorable sketch he performed with Will Forte during Swift's 2009 hosting. "We did a sketch called Potato Chip," he said, recalling the fun they had. "However, it didn’t air that night."
Travis interjected, referring to the young Swift, "Nice! A young Taylor too."
Sudeikis explained that while the sketch didn’t make it on the 2009 show, it later aired in 2013 with Blake Lively replacing Swift. "She got it over the hump for us," Sudeikis noted about Lively’s help with the sketch. "It’s so silly, worth looking up."
In the comedic skit, Sudeikis portrayed a man trying to become an astronaut, intending to eat a chip from a NASA employee played by Forte. Lively's character, Forte’s secretary, hilariously defended the chips against theft.

Both Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been hosts on "SNL," with Travis taking the stage following the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory in 2023. Interestingly, that same year marked the beginning of Travis and Taylor's relationship after he expressed his desire to meet her at one of her Eras tour concerts.
Travis reflected on their unique connection through friendship bracelets exchanged at the concert, revealing, "I wanted to give Taylor one with my number on it." Swift later praised the gesture as "metal as hell" during a TIME magazine interview.
The start of their romance took place shortly after that concert episode, with Swift sharing, "We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for." This allowed them to connect on a deeper level before their relationship became public.
