Victoria and David Beckham Make Surprise Appearance at Buckingham Palace

David and Victoria Beckham recently made a surprise appearance at Buckingham Palace for a date night. The couple attended a state banquet honoring Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday, December 3. Dressed in matching all-black attire, they held hands while mingling with attendees. David, 49, and Victoria, 50, were seated next to British politician Kemi Badenoch and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

As reported by the U.K. outlet The Telegraph, the Beckhams’ attendance wasn’t announced beforehand. Their long-standing relationship with the royal family made their invitation to this prestigious event expected.

While the Beckhams were present, Princess Kate Middleton was noticeably absent. Kensington Palace had previously informed the public about her decision not to attend. Earlier that day, Kate, 42, appeared with husband Prince William at the ceremonial welcome for the Qatari leader.

Queen Camilla was also missed at the initial welcome due to a chest infection. However, she was photographed later at the white-tie dinner with King Charles III. Buckingham Palace had announced on November 5 that Camilla, 77, would miss several public engagements for health reasons.

A spokesperson stated, "Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest." Regrettably, Camilla had to withdraw from engagements that week but hoped to recover in time for the weekend's Remembrance events.

While she did attend a few events, the palace revealed that Camilla was suffering from pneumonia. She opted out of welcoming Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, due to post-viral symptoms like fatigue.

Camilla’s illness followed a trip to Australia and Samoa with King Charles, 76, which concluded on October 26. Additionally, she had been focused on promoting her documentary, *Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors*, which was released on November 11. Charles expressed pride in the film, saying, "It’s very moving, isn’t it? I am very proud of it. It reduced me to tears."
