Why Brody Jenner’s Mom Linda Thompson Had an Altar to Pray for Him

While Brody Jenner competed in Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, his mom, Linda Thompson, faced her own challenges. During the show, she maintained an altar in her home to pray for Brody's safety.

Linda explained that she "prayed every day" for her son's well-being as he trained with an elite ex-military team in the intense competition. In an interview with Us Weekly, published on March 4, she shared, "I had an altar in my house with his photos and religious candles. I lit candles every day. ‘Please God, let him come home.’"

Although Brody, 41, returned home safely and triumphed in the final challenge alongside Kayla Nicole, Linda worried about potential injuries during the show. She recalled hearing about injuries sustained by other participants. "They get hurt," she expressed. "One of the guys got his nose smashed, and Carey Hart got hurt. It’s no joke. I was really nervous about it. I knew he came home OK, but he was under NDA and couldn't tell us exactly how he did."

Linda, who shares Brody and his brother Brandon, 43, with ex Caitlyn Jenner, had initially urged her youngest son not to join the competition. "I said, ‘I will sell Apple stock and give you the money. Maybe you don’t do it.’ I was so nervous," she admitted. She had watched some episodes and believed the experience was brutal. "They put them through hell. It’s no joke. We only see previews; the editing cuts out much of the torment. He said it was brutal. He probably would never do it again."

Since his return, Brody has focused on family time with his fiancée Tia Blanco and their 19-month-old daughter, Honey Raye Jenner. Initially unsure about having children due to his dynamics with Caitlyn, he now feels fulfilled in his role as a parent.

"To be totally honest, I didn’t know if I could really have kids. I had no idea," he revealed in an August 2023 YouTube video.

"Tia is the absolute perfect person for me. She is my better half, the most incredible woman I’ve ever met, and I believe the universe aligns things as they should."
