Kit Harington Surprises Viewers in a Game of Thrones Universe Return
Kit Harington has returned to the Game of Thrones universe, delighting fans with a surprise appearance in a video for the new Game of Thrones: Legends mobile game. The actor, celebrated for his role as Jon Snow in the iconic HBO series, announced his return: "Winter is coming. I’m ready to forge my own destiny. I’ve composed my strategy, refined my tactics. I’ll solve every puzzle, overcome every challenge, to defeat the deadliest threat we’ve ever faced: the Long Night."
The game provides a role-playing puzzle experience, allowing players to "build and lead their own Westeros house, hone their tactics and skill, assemble a team of champions, equip weapons, and face formidable foes from the Game of Thrones universe." According to the official description, players can undertake quests in story mode or participate in Raids, competing against others in real-time.
Harington discussed the project in a statement: "The creativity and care taken to create *Game of Thrones: Legends* is obvious and it feels completely natural to jump back into Westeros for this game. This is a true love letter to the fans, without whom the franchise would be nothing, and I’m honored to pay tribute to them in this new campaign." In Legends, he reprises his role as Jon Snow, reminiscing over his character while tackling new challenges.
The 37-year-old actor’s return aligns with the significance of his character’s past, who famously defeated the Long Night in the original series finale. The game also includes a scene nodding to his famous line where, after his opponent quoting "You know nothing, Jon Snow," Kit humorously interjects, "Don’t say it," only to add after a timely victory, "I do know some things."
The game further enriches the player experience with characters from Game of Thrones and the spin-off series House of the Dragon, featuring heroes like Rhaenyra Targaryen, Arya Stark, Drogon, The Hound, and Ser Criston Cole. For Kit, reenacting Jon Snow in this game stands as the ideal opportunity to reconnect with the beloved series that, as he noted in a heartfelt farewell in *The Last Watch* documentary, remains a treasured part of his life.
"I feel like my heart is breaking," Kit had expressed then. "I love this show more than, I think, anything. It has never been a job for me. It's been my life, and this will always be the greatest thing I’ll ever do and be a part of, and you have been my family. I love you for it, and thank you so much."
