'Gossip Girl' Actress Missing in LA; Husband Refuses to Assist Family in Ongoing Search

‘Gossip Girl’ actress Chanel Maya Banks has been missing for the past two weeks. Reports indicate that her husband is allegedly "not willing" to assist in the search efforts, Page Six reported.

The 36-year-old actress, residing in Playa Vista, Los Angeles, was last heard from by her family on October 30. Authorities have conducted four wellness checks between November 7 and 8 but have been unable to locate Banks. Her family launched a GoFundMe campaign, stating the police have classified her as an "official missing person in California."

Banks’ cousin, Danielle-Tori Singh, discovered that the only items missing from Banks’ apartment were her phone and laptop. Singh, who flew in from Toronto, together with Banks’ mother arriving from New York, gained access to her home on November 10. They confirmed that "all of her belongings are still there" and noted that Banks left her small dog behind, a significant sign, considering she never does so.

"There has been no sign of her vehicle as well; it remains parked in her garage," Singh added. She expressed concern over Banks’ well-being, emphasizing that her cousin normally informs the family of her whereabouts. Singh remarked, "Five days without hearing from my cousin raises red flags and alarm bells," highlighting the close relationship they share.

To assist in locating the "Blue Bloods" actress, her family aims to fund a private investigator and cover expenses in Los Angeles during the search. Singh also made troubling allegations regarding Banks’ husband, who reportedly has not supported the family or police in their search.

"He does not want to assist the LAPD. He refuses to cooperate with me or her mom," Singh stated during her interview. She also shared that the husband has been allegedly removing flyers from public areas. In a comment on their GoFundMe page, she expressed frustration: "We asked him where is Chanel, but he claims, ‘She does not want to be found; she will reach out when she’s ready.’"

The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that they are actively investigating Banks' disappearance.
