John Mulaney Reveals Son Malcolm's Initial Reaction to His New Sister: 'Thought She Was a Toy'
John Mulaney recently discussed his role as a father of two during an exclusive conversation at the GQ Man of the Year event on November 14, PEOPLE reported. Embracing the joys of parenthood with his wife, Olivia Munn, he shared insights into how their son Malcolm Hiệp, who will turn two on November 24, 2021, is adjusting to his role as a big brother to his new sister, Méi June, born on September 14.
Mulaney humorously noted that Malcolm initially mistook baby Méi's newborn noises for those of a toy, though he now understands she is part of the family. Additionally, Mulaney mentioned plans to blend Malcolm's birthday celebration with Thanksgiving, turning it into a unique family tradition.
The entertainer expressed his excitement about being honored as GQ’s Comedian of the Year while also commemorating Méi's two-month milestone. In a touching act, he shared snapshots of Méi bonding with her family on social media, alongside a heartfelt message: "2 months."
Mei's birth followed Munn's challenging journey with breast cancer which resulted in several surgeries and health measures. Méi's arrival was announced on Instagram, delightedly noting she was born in the auspicious year of the dragon.
