Nina Dobrev and Shaun White, both engaged after more than four years of dating, recently celebrated their commitment with a proposal in New York City at the end of October, PEOPLE reported. The couple, who posted romantic photos featuring Nina's teardrop-shaped diamond ring and 5-carat engagement ring from White, shared their happiness on Instagram. Dobrev captioned her post humorously, "RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé 💍♾️," while White announced, "She said YES 💍♾️."

Rumors of their relationship began in 2020 when fans spotted both sharing pictures from a trip to South Africa. It was later confirmed by sources in May 2020 that they were dating. Their relationship became official on Instagram when Dobrev posted snapshots of her giving White a quarantine haircut.

Their initial meeting occurred at an awards show in 2012, but they only got acquainted in 2019 after meeting at an event in Florida organized by Tony Robbins. Reflecting on their first date, White recalled with humor that restaurant staff recognized Nina rather than his Olympic accolades.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, they moved in together. White noted how Dobrev was a great support during this time, describing her as a lifesaver. Together, they embarked on a home renovation project at Dobrev's West Hollywood residence, underlining their strong partnership.
