Olympian Missy Franklin Announces Pregnancy with Baby Girl No. 2 in Halloween Style
Former Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin shared the exciting news on her Instagram on October 31, revealing her second pregnancy with a heartwarming Halloween-themed post. Franklin, 29, known for her stellar performance at the 2012 London Olympics, is expecting another daughter with her husband, Hayes Johnson, PEOPLE reported. They celebrated by dressing up as superheroes alongside their 3-year-old daughter, Sarah Caitlin, and showcased a sonogram image.
"We couldn’t be happier announcing a new addition to our superhero family! Baby girl Johnson number two is set to arrive in March," Franklin wrote, adding that Sarah is thrilled to become a big sister. "Happy Halloween from the three, soon to be FOUR, of us!" she expressed, exuding gratitude for their growing family.
While Franklin’s Olympic accomplishments have left a lasting legacy, she faces challenges post-retirement due to persistent shoulder injuries. Although she can't swim competitively anymore, Franklin retired after earning her fifth gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She remains focused on a new direction, contributing positively away from competitive swimming, and values her well-being over returning to the pool.
