Rapper Rich Homie Quan, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, passed away at age 34 due to an accidental drug overdose, as revealed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, PEOPLE reported. The report, shared on Tuesday, October 1st, specifies the date of his death as September 5th and lists multiple substances found in his system, including fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, promethazine, and THC. The examination determined that Quan showed no signs of trauma, and his death was an accident.

Quan's body was discovered in his Atlanta home by his brother, who recounted finding him at 3 a.m. on the kitchen floor with food in his mouth. Later, at 11 a.m., a woman contacted the police upon realizing that he had stopped breathing. Earlier, she had assumed he was sleeping.

The rapper's music career highlighted milestones such as the 2013 track "Type of Way," which reached No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became an anthem for the Michigan State football team. His 2015 song "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned two BET Hip Hop Award nominations. In 2018, he released his only solo studio album, "Rich as in Spirit," featuring Rick Ross.

Rich Homie Quan was laid to rest in Georgia on September 17th during an event open to fans and live-streamed on his website.
