Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola Opens Up About Miscarriage and Engagement to Justin May
Reality TV star Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola has candidly shared a significant emotional challenge she faced before her engagement. Known from Jersey Shore, Sammi announced in April that she is engaged to her long-time partner, Justin May. The news brings happiness following the earlier hardship she disclosed, PEOPLE reported.
On the November 21 episode of "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation," viewers witnessed the high of Sammi's engagement alongside the low of a miscarriage. In a heartfelt confessional, Sammi recounted how she and Justin discovered they were no longer expecting following an unsuccessful cycle of in vitro fertilization (IVF). Despite initially achieving pregnancy, the embryo did not survive, resulting in a miscarriage.
Reflecting on the IVF journey, Sammi described the experience as grueling, involving numerous injections and hormonal treatments. She expressed the joy at the prospect of becoming a mother but lamented its abrupt loss. Despite this painful episode, Sammi felt supported by Justin, who consistently offered encouragement and agreed to pause the IVF journey until she was ready to proceed.
In April of this year, Sammi shared on Instagram that Justin proposed to her on March 16. She celebrated the occasion by posting, "The easiest question I've ever answered.. happiest & luckiest girl in the world š I'll love you forever, and then some š¤ #Futurewifey #Engaged." She assured her followers that this joyous life update wasn't an April Foolās joke and looked forward to spending her life with Justin.
