SZA Confesses Regrets Over Unnecessary BBL
SZA, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, has openly expressed regret about undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in an interview with British Vogue. Published on November 14, SZA, 35, shared that she wishes she hadn't proceeded with the significant cosmetic procedure, emphasizing how the immobility during recovery led to unwanted weight gain. Though she viewed the BBL, which enhances one's backside size by shifting fat, as a learning opportunity, she now believes it was ultimately unnecessary, US Weekly reported.
In a candid disclosure during a 2023 ELLE magazine interview, SZA revealed her perspective, comparing her butt enhancement to a 'purse' for augmentation purposes. This step of enhancing her figure came not from industry pressures, but from personal dissatisfaction – a notion she expressed transparently by admitting to her own reflexive desire for a larger backside.
Beyond the BBL, SZA has also shared experiences with other cosmetic surgeries. During a "SHE MD" podcast appearance in March 2024, SZA disclosed the complications following her decision to get breast implants. Despite a high familial risk of breast cancer, advised against due to markers detected in her breast, she went ahead with the procedure. Unfortunately, this resulted in scar tissue and discomfort requiring the implants to eventually be removed.
By opening up about these experiences, SZA has highlighted the temporary nature of the body and embraced the learning journeys alongside the visible changes, signifying that while cosmetic alterations can be appealing, they are not always the remedy envisioned.
