Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson's LA Home Burglarized Amid Celebrity Break-In Spree
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson recently became victims of a series of celebrity targeted home break-ins. The couple’s Los Angeles residence was burgled a few weeks ago during daylight hours, with intruders breaking into a guest house by smashing a window to reach inside. This is prepared by SSP.
Both Hanks, 68 and Wilson, 67, were out of town at the time, and a triggered security alarm alerted law enforcement officials to the break-in. According to law enforcement sources, while the robbers could not access the main house, it remains unspecified what, if anything, they took or if there was further damage to the property. Investigations are ongoing with no suspects arrested yet.
Hanks and Wilson, married for 36 years, purchased their 14,513sq ft, four-bedroom, five-bathroom cliffside mansion in January 2010. Designed with limestone cladding, the mansion includes three floors, encompassing a wine cellar, swimming pool with a deck area, and a picturesque tree-lined motor court as featured in Architectural Digest.
This incident places Hanks and Wilson among other celebrities recently targeted, including Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland, and Marlon Wayans. The Standard and ABC News have both attempted to contact Hanks’ representatives for a response, so far without success.
Within the past several weeks, more than a dozen other home burglaries in high-end San Fernando Valley neighborhoods have been reported by ongoing criminal crews. It remains unclear if the perpetrators knew it was Hanks' residence before the break-in.
As a reminder, Tom Hanks’ next movie, Here, directed by Robert Zemeckis and adapted from Richard McGuire's graphic novel, is scheduled to release in the UK on November 15.
