Adele Confirms Engagement to Rich Paul During Munich Concert
The British singer, Adele, who is currently on a 10-gig stint at a specially built open-air arena in Munich, Germany, has seemingly confirmed her engagement to US sports agent, Rich Paul, The Independent reported. During her concert on August 9, Adele engaged in an impromptu moment with her fans when she spotted someone holding a sign that read "Will you marry me?".
Adele read the sign aloud before responding, "I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married, but I appreciate it, thank you." The statement was made more emphatic as she flashed a substantial diamond ring on her left hand, prompting cheers from the crowd. The exchange was captured on camera and quickly shared on social media.
Adele and Rich Paul have been in a relationship since 2021. Paul, the founder of Klutch Sports Group, boasts basketball legend LeBron James among his clients. Addressing her dedication to Paul, Adele told Elle magazine in 2022, "I've never been in love like this. I'm obsessed with him."
The singer's remarks seemingly put an end to speculation that began back in February 2022, when Adele attended the BRIT Awards with a diamond ring, sparking engagement rumors that she initially denied in an interview with Elle by saying, "I'm not engaged. I love high-end jewelry, boy!"
The engagement revelation wasn’t entirely unprecedented. In a similar incident during her Las Vegas residency in September 2023, Adele declined another fan's marriage proposal, citing Paul's presence in the audience and referring to him as her husband. Though the couple had not formerly disclosed their engagement, Adele repeatedly hinted at her profound affection for Paul in various concerts.
The 36-year-old artist has been candid about her family plans with Paul. Previously married to Simon Konecki and sharing a son with him, Adele indicated her readiness to expand her family. She expressed her intention to have a baby girl after concluding her professional commitments, "Once I am done with all my obligations and stuff like that and all my shows, I’m going to have a baby," she noted during a concert in May.
