Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia Finalize Divorce and Cancel Restraining Orders

Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia have reached a divorce settlement, confirmed by Garcia's representative. The couple navigated this process through private mediation, avoiding court appearances entirely, PEOPLE reported.

The specifics of the settlement remain undisclosed. However, both Garcia and Chigvintsev agreed to drop their domestic violence restraining orders against each other. This decision aims to facilitate co-parenting for their son. Garcia’s representative emphasized her commitment to their son's welfare and expressed gratitude for the support she received during this challenging period.

Garcia, 40, filed divorce papers on September 11 after Chigvintsev’s arrest on assault suspicion. Although the Napa District Attorney did not pursue criminal charges later on, this event placed their relationship under strain. In the divorce petition, Garcia sought sole physical and legal custody of Mateo, with Chigvintsev receiving supervised visitation rights. She also requested the court terminate spousal support for both individuals. Chigvintsev, 42, contested this by requesting joint custody and support from Garcia to cover his attorney's fees.

The couple's legal troubles heightened following Chigvintsev’s arrest on August 29 and subsequent bail. On September 30, a judge granted Garcia a restraining order against Chigvintsev. Shortly after, Chigvintsev sought his own order against Garcia, which was also granted.

Both parties alleged mutual aggression during the incident that initiated these legal actions. Garcia described a confrontation where Chigvintsev allegedly pinned her down and limited her ability to breathe. Chigvintsev responded to these claims with photos of injuries and stated there was a "mutual struggle" leading to both ending up on the ground.

With their divorce settled, Garcia and Chigvintsev now focus on co-parenting Matteo while managing their personal lives apart. This development marks a significant shift following their initial legal confrontations, allowing them to prioritize their son's needs moving forward.
