Green Day Partners with 7-Eleven for Punk Bunny Coffee Anniversary Blend
Green Day has teamed up with 7-Eleven to launch a unique coffee collaboration, People magazine reported. This partnership celebrates two significant milestones: the 30th anniversary of Green Day's album "Dookie" and the 60th anniversary of 7-Eleven's groundbreaking concept of freshly brewed coffee in to-go cups.
Available exclusively at 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations starting August 28, the Punk Bunny Coffee Anniversary Blend offers a vibrant mix of citrus flavors with undertones of rich stone fruit, warm cocoa, and a hint of spice. This multi-layered coffee is a celebration of flavors that fans can enjoy. In addition to this limited-time blend, Punk Bunny's Fair Trade Certified coffee will be available as bagged blends and K-Cups featuring the Sound Check and Last Ride In roasts. Limited-edition Punk Bunny-themed collectible refill mugs will also be offered while supplies last.
Fans will also have the chance to celebrate uniquely. The first 50 fans, aged 21 and up, who visit the 7-Eleven store at 800 6th Ave in New York City on August 28 starting at 8:00 a.m. ET, and get a custom 7-Eleven x Punk Bunny tattoo, will receive free 7-Eleven coffee for 711 days. The custom tattoo, designed by California artist Lady Cobra, connects with the band's long-standing tradition of fans showing their dedication with ink.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong reflected on the collaboration, mentioning the band’s early days frequenting their local 7-Eleven in Berkeley, California, making this partnership a "full-circle moment." This nostalgic connection is further highlighted by the release of the Anniversary Blend, designed to provide a robust coffee experience that embodies the band’s punk spirit.
To further commemorate these anniversaries, a collection of exclusive merchandise, which includes co-branded T-shirts, hoodies, caps, totes, and stickers, is available through 7-Eleven's online shop, 7Collection™.
Highlighting the significance of this joint venture, Marissa Jarratt, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing and Sustainability Officer at 7-Eleven, expressed excitement about bringing both music and coffee fans a distinctive experience. In addition, senior vice-president Dennis Phelps celebrates 7-Eleven's legacy as the original to-go coffee retailer and its ongoing commitment to offering innovative and exclusive products.
As Green Day marks 30 years since "Dookie" and 20 years since their impactful "American Idiot" album, commemorations like these connect their music legacy with fans in new, memorable ways.
Earlier, SSP wrote that Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on their anniversary date.
