Matthew Perry's Tragic Final Hours
Court documents have meticulously outlined the final hours leading up to the tragic death of Matthew Perry, the famed star of the sitcom "Friends," the Independent reported. Perry, who passed away on October 28 last year at the age of 54 in his Los Angeles home from a drug overdose, had been extensively using ketamine for infusion therapy to tackle depression and anxiety. However, this led to an out-of-control dependency that entailed taking the drug six to eight times daily.
According to court records, on the day of his death, Perry’s long-term personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, injected him with ketamine at 8:30 a.m. and subsequently at 12:45 p.m. while Perry watched a film. Perry then asked Iwamasa to "shoot me up with a big one" and prepare the hot tub. Iwamasa followed through with Perry's request before leaving for errands, returning later to find Perry unresponsive in the jacuzzi.
Five individuals, including Iwamasa, have been charged in connection with Perry's death. This group consists of doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, acquaintance Eric Fleming, and North Hollywood resident Jasveen Sangha, known as the "Ketamine Queen." According to allegations, drugs transitioned through a chain: Sangha provided ketamine to Fleming, who supplied Iwamasa; both doctors and Sangha were implicated in direct and indirect provisions of the drug.
In context, Perry's problematic reliance on ketamine spiraled further when on October 12, Plasencia administered a "large dose" leading to severe adverse reactions for Perry. Despite this, Plasencia left additional ketamine for Perry's use. Inconsistent yet sustained usage led Perry to their undisclosed source for more doses – Sangha, who additionally introduced and provided him with ketamine lollipops.
The autopsy reports state ketamine levels in Perry’s body indicated recent use outside controlled infusion therapy sessions. The investigation posthumously shined light on formal and illicit drug procurements impacting the actor's tragic demise.
This ongoing case reopens a narrative stretching back close to seven months, transitioning focus from accident to incrimination, now involving multiple law enforcement agencies coordinating collectively to unravel full culpability for supplies that led to Perry's ultimate overdose.
