Sister Wives: Meri Brown Discusses Breastfeeding Tradition
Meri Brown is sharing insights into her community's breastfeeding traditions. In the Sunday, October 13 episode of "Sister Wives," an off-camera director questioned Christine Brown about a rumor, PEOPLE reported. The rumor suggested that many sister wives in their church often switched kids to breastfeed them.
Christine immediately responded, "That is not true! No, that was a joke. That's disgusting."
Meri Brown, 53, presented a different viewpoint in her confessional. She stated, "I actually breastfed one of our kids that was not my own child." She explained that this was medically necessary at the time, emphasizing that it wasn’t a common practice for fun.
Janelle Brown added her perspective. Although she never participated in this practice, she explained, "I've never breastfed another baby. I never had enough milk. I would have been hard-pressed to do that."
Robyn Brown shared her thoughts about the tradition. She cautiously affirmed, "Yeah, it's true. It's true. Women would breastfeed each other's babies." Further elaborating, she described instances she’d witnessed in their culture.
Robyn, 46, clarified, "It's not like musical babies. It's more about necessity and help. It’s about a community of women supporting one another regarding their children."
