Creative Revenge: Wanessa Moura's Unique Twist on a Broken Engagement
Wanessa Moura took an unorthodox approach when her ex-fiancé asked for their engagement ring back after their two-year engagement ended. The 30-year-old model and influencer found his text request "insensitive" and decided to repurpose the ring in a memorable way, the Mirror prepared.
Rather than returning the ring, she enlisted a goldsmith to melt it down and create "gold-plated toilet paper," a transformation she believes perfectly represents the failings of their relationship. Wanessa explained, "Every time I see this toilet paper, it reminds me that I can turn any negative situation into something that brings me joy. The insensitivity of his request made me realize I no longer wanted to preserve that symbol of disappointment and sadness."
Discussing her decision, Wanessa shared that seeing the ring only reminded her of the heartbreak. Her resolve to move on inspired her to find a way to make a difficult situation humorous. "Refusing to give the ring back and opting for this unique revenge felt like the perfect ironic twist," she said.
The goldsmith, initially puzzled by the request, eventually appreciated the unusual job. Wanessa recalled, "He was curious, but my intention was to repurpose the gold in an entirely unexpected manner."
Her ex-fiancé’s reaction was one of sheer astonishment upon receiving the photo. "He was completely speechless; it’s a reaction I’m sure he will never forget. For me, it was the ideal conclusion to our story," Wanessa stated.
