Thief leaves note for owner after robbery in China
In a peculiar incident of burglary in Shanghai, China, a thief not only stole a watch and laptop from an office but also left a note for the owner suggesting an upgrade to their security system, SSP reported. The incident has garnered attention from social media users. The thief, identified as Sang, climbed the building's outer wall to gain entry and proceeded to collect mobile phones and laptops. He piled them on a desk, wrote a note in a notebook, and left it open, carefully placing it under the stack of devices before departing.
The intriguing note addressed to the employer conveyed, "Dear boss, I took a wristwatch and a laptop. You should improve your anti-theft system. I did not take all the phones and laptops, fearing it might hurt your business." To add a surprising touch, at the end of the note, the thief left his contact information, inviting the owner to reach out if they wanted their laptop and phone returned.
Shanghai police successfully tracked down the thief using public surveillance cameras and the phone number provided. Only hours after the crime, the culprit, Sang, was apprehended on a train leaving Shanghai, still carrying the stolen items. He currently remains under custody, awaiting justice for his actions.
This unusual incident has captured the attention of social media users, giving rise to various opinions. Some referred to the thief as "kind," while others deemed him "too cocky." Amusingly, one user jokingly suggested that instead of focusing on improving the anti-theft system, the thief should enhance his getaway skills. It appears that this unexpected theft has spurred light-hearted discussions among netizens.
In a separate incident from last year in Telangana, India, a failed heist led to a burglar leaving a peculiar note at a government-run rural bank. After breaking into the bank but failing to find any currency or valuables, the burglar wrote on a newspaper with a marker pen, stating, "I could not get a single rupee...so don't catch me. My fingerprints will not be there. Good bank." This curious incident presented a baffling twist in an unsuccessful burglary attempt.
