A woman complained about how her fiancé threw away her dead mother's ashes. This was reported by SSPDaily.

The 26-year-old woman explained on Reddit that her mother died unexpectedly in a car accident, and she and her sister were left "devastated" because they were very close and their father was not alive.

She said that she lives with her fiancé Ben, who is 28 years old, and she would have liked him to support her after her mother's death, but things went awry. She stated that Ben doesn't deal with his emotions very well and he is quite "dumb" and she attributed this to his upbringing. Instead of supporting her in her grief, Ben decided to "move out" because he said it was "too much" for him to handle.

"My sister temporarily moved in with me so we could support each other," she explained, sharing that Ben visited her every few days. "I admit that for a while after that, I was desperate. I didn't need him to be my therapist, I just needed him to be with me during the darkest time of my life. As soon as the situation escalated, he ran for the hills."

A month later, Ben returned to the apartment after someone forced him to look at things from his partner's point of view and he reflected on his behavior.

She wrote: "At first, I wanted to leave him and my sister agreed, but he begged me to give him a chance to make things right. I was so incapacitated with grief that I had no strength to fight. He took the initiative to get individual therapy for himself and family therapy for us. I could see that he was making a real effort to change, so we stayed together and eventually got engaged. My sister was against it at first, but in the end she said she thought he was making a real effort with everything, so staying was the right decision. She moved out a month and a half after Ben returned. I offered her to stay, but she said she needed space because the issue with Ben was resolved. Since then, everything has been generally peaceful and we started planning the wedding. Then I found out what Ben did a few days ago."

And that's when things got really complicated, because she learned the painful truth about what her lover had done. She and her sister were thinking about what to do with their mother's ashes and considered a necklace, but decided that it would make them "cry." They also didn't want to scatter the ashes, as there was no suitable "super-special place" and dividing them between two urns was not an option either.

As a result, they decided to leave the urn in the author's apartment. Their mother was a believer, and the urn contained a rosary, and one day the woman's sister said she wanted to keep it as a reminder of her mother. But when she looked into the urn, she was shocked. "Imagine my surprise when, instead of my mother's remains, I saw a large sandbag," she wrote.

It turned out that Ben had been "cleaning" the place where her ashes were, despite her asking him not to, and "the plastic had somehow broken and the ashes were scattered all over the carpet." Instead of confessing, he kept it a secret because he was "afraid" of her reaction and did not want to push her "over the edge." The ashes were on the carpet, so he decided to vacuum them up. "Then, instead of returning it to the urn, he threw the contents of the vacuum cleaner into the trash. When I asked him why he didn't just return the ashes to the urn after vacuuming, he stared at the floor," she said.

The woman continued: "The next day, he literally ran to our local park and grabbed some sand in a bag, so it was about the same weight as the ashes." She called him "stupid" and was concerned that he wasn't even telling her the truth. She was angry: "The ashes were a little rough, with bone fragments. He didn't even try to grab some of the fragments. He threw my mom in the trash. I hate him so much now. I have nothing left but sand, which a 4-year-old child must have urinated in."

As a result, the woman moved to a hotel and blocked her fiancé's room.

Meanwhile, readers are convinced that this was a blessing in disguise: "Your mom saved you from marrying that dog. This is her wonderful gift to you. Her ashes saved you from being tied to a man who will make your life a living hell. Plant a tree in a special place and dedicate it to her memory. Leave your boyfriend who doesn't know how to treat people", "I really hope you finally see the light and throw away this pile of human garbage", "What a selfish and evil thing to do. I would never want to see his face again. Disgusting." Others said the man was not trustworthy, and the first warning sign was that he left her to grieve alone.
