Grazer Secures Back-to-Back Victory in Fat Bear Week
Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska announced that a bear named Grazer has won Fat Bear Week for the second straight year. Grazer, officially known as bear 128, triumphed in the contest, defeating notable rivals like Chunk, No. 32.
"This plump sow has earned a successful winter in her den after working hard raising a cub and enjoying a summer of salmon," the park stated on social media.
The yearly contest, which invites public voting, serves as a celebration of survival and success. It highlights the strength, resilience, and adaptability of the brown bears in Katmai.
This year, all of the bears in the competition demonstrated remarkable efforts in gaining weight.
"Congratulations to all the fat bears in Katmai, and a big thank you to the salmon. Healthy salmon support healthy, fat bears," park officials expressed.
