A couple with an age difference of 19 years talks about their relationship and the reaction of social media

The story of the relationship between 27-year-old Emily Downing and 46-year-old Michael Justin began several years ago. Soon, information about it got to social networks and the couple started having problems.

At first, according to the Mirror, Emily was simply trolled, told that she had "father issues" and asked why she was dating a man much older than her. Then they started calling and threatening her.

Recently, Emily and Michael told us how it all happened. In particular, the couple said that they often received messages from strangers claiming that they were cheating on each other. They even received kidnapping threats several times.

Michael Justin and Emily Downing met at a yoga class in 2019, and their relationship began to develop rapidly. The only thing stopping them was a serious age difference. So they lived in different cities for a while - Michael in Los Angeles and Emily in Arizona - but in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the lovers realized they couldn't stand being apart.

Michael soon moved back to Arizona, and they rented an apartment. It was then that the couple made their relationship public, which Michael admits he had never done before.

After that, some of his inadequate subscribers made a scandal, and Emily became the object of real harassment. She even received calls from strangers trying to convince her that Michael was cheating on her.

However, despite all the problems - the pandemic, obsessive stalkers, and hurtful messages - the couple did not break off their relationship. Moreover, this year, Michael and Emily got married.

As for social media, not only did they not leave it but they also started a joint channel on TikTok. Now Michael and Emily have a completely different type of subscribers, who are mostly positive about their relationship and even ask for dating advice.

By the way, their first joint TikTok in 2020 became a hit and gained three million views, which is an incredible result as the app was just entering the global market. "The fact that he's with me has definitely reduced the number of his fans, he doesn't have as many as he used to," Emily says.

"When I first started posting about Emily on Instagram, I lost about 8,000 followers in the first week," Michael added.

Despite the significant success with new subscribers, social media still has its occasional weirdness. Recently, TikTok users claimed that Michael kidnapped Emily.

"I think it's some kind of trend, or to be honest, people just like to feed off of something negative because it's so cruel and meaningless," Michael summarized at the end of his story.
