Animal Control Seeks Owner of Yellow Python Found in Brighton
Boston Animal Care and Control officials are seeking the owner of a yellow python that was found wandering in a commercial area.
Animal control officers located a yellow python in Brighton on Monday, causing concern among local residents.
The young python was found near Washington Street, where many businesses are situated. Boston Animal Care and Control is actively seeking the snake’s owner and has shared information on social media.
Residents reacted with surprise to the discovery of the snake.
"I assume someone brought it here. I don’t think they are common around this area," one resident remarked.
"It's definitely someone's pet. It could be an illegal pet," another added. "This is quite frightening, and I don’t want it on my streets."
Many community members expressed fear about potential dangers to their pets from another large snake in the area.
It remains unknown if the python escaped from its owner’s home or if it was intentionally abandoned.
