The tale unfolded when a guy, known online as @imnotmissamerica, shared his side-splitting reaction to the name of his newly purchased bed. Unaware of the potential implications, he had acquired a $669 (£522) bed frame called 'ytterväg' from a US-based IKEA store.

The 'ytterväg' bedframe is a Scandinavian-style rendition of a four-poster bed frame, pronounced as "eat-ter-vog" and translated as "outer wall." Regrettably, like many English speakers, our protagonist misunderstood the foreign pronunciation and believed it had a ruder connotation.

In a video that amassed over 77,000 likes, he humorously exclaimed, "I have just noticed my bed is called 'eat-er-v*g,'" inadvertently resembling a crude English phrase referring to a specific sexual act involving a woman. Revealing that such activities were not taking place in his bed, he playfully extended a "Happy Pride Month" message in the caption.

TikTok users couldn't contain their amusement and flooded the comments section, teasing the peculiar name choice. Some quipped that if they were in charge of naming IKEA products, they couldn't resist including such humorous double entendres. Others humorously remarked that they needed that bed since they were vegetarian.
