Strong Feeling Leads Michigan Woman to $264,963 Lottery Prize
A Michigan woman followed her instincts, leading her to a remarkable lottery win. She reported having a "strong feeling" that urged her to play the lottery before receiving the large jackpot, writes The Mirror.
The 60-year-old from Kent County scored a $264,963 progressive jackpot this week from an online lottery game. "I play games on the Michigan Lottery app occasionally," the anonymous winner told officials.
"That night, I just felt strongly that I should try the Michigan Jackpot game," she remarked. Her intuition was correct, resulting in a significant win. "I gave it a shot, and after a few tickets, I hit the jackpot!"
The lottery victory left her in disbelief. She initially thought it might be an error. "I was so anxious when I won. I feared it was a mistake or would disappear from my phone. I went to bed that night, and upon waking, I rushed to check my Lottery account. When the prize was still there, I informed my husband about the great news!"
She later visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. The winner plans to share the money with her family and invest in her business.
"I am incredibly happy and grateful for this prize, and I will pay it forward," she stated. Michigan Jackpot is a new online instant draw game where players can purchase up to four tickets for each drawing, each at the cost of $1.
Each ticket features six numbers from 1 to 42. Players who match all six win the progressive jackpot, which begins at $50,000. Michigan Lottery participants can vie for various prizes, ranging from $1 to multimillion-dollar jackpots through online instant games, Powerball, Mega Millions, Lucky for Life, Lotto 47, and Fantasy 5.
This remarkable win follows a man's experience in Maryland, who attributed his lottery success to a craving for potato wedges. He shared that after craving Royal Farms potato wedges, he decided to visit his local store for a bag. Munching on the tasty treat led him to feel encouraged to buy lottery tickets.
"I had a $20 bill, so I picked a Ravens X10 ticket and a Money Rush game," the player recounted. He noted that something about the Money Rush ticket drew his attention.
"I glanced but wasn’t fully focused, then had to double-check," he explained. To confirm his hunch, he asked the clerk to check the ticket, revealing his $50,000 win.
