Students Break Record with Egg Drop from 83 Feet
A group of students from Pennsylvania shattered a Guinness World Record by successfully dropping an egg from 83 feet without cracking it.
The Tredyffrin-Easttown School District students, known as the T/E Egg Drop Team, designed a protective cover. This innovation allowed the egg to survive its dramatic descent from the significant height unscathed.
This team set a new record of 83 feet, surpassing the previous one of 54.13 feet. Ritesh N. from India held the prior record, which was established in December 2023.
The Egg Drop Team consisted of seniors from Conestoga High School: Matthew Ma, Charlie Gawthrop, and Jeffrey Wang. They were joined by Breckin Shefflerwood from Valley Forge Middle School and their teacher, Derrick Wood.
"There was a lot of video evidence and paperwork to compile over the past few weeks," Wood stated. "It was definitely worth it. Hopefully, this record will be like our egg — unbroken — for quite some time!"
