Sunnyfields Farm Debuts 2024 Beetlejuice-Themed Pumpkin Mosaic

Sunnyfields Farm in Hampshire, renowned for earning the Guinness World Record last year for the largest pumpkin mosaic with their display of Jack Skellington from "The Nightmare Before Christmas," recently revealed their 2024 creation. This tribute highlights the character Beetlejuice from the timeless Tim Burton film, featuring over 10,000 pumpkins and squashes meticulously arranged, The News reported.

Farm owner Ian Nelson, eager to maintain the farm's world record, garnered fan input to select the Beetlejuice theme. An impressive 70% of patrons voted for the character made iconic by Michael Keaton, coinciding with the "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" sequel currently in cinemas. The preparation demanded approximately 50 hours of careful planning, culminating in a swift seven-hour construction phase involving Nelson and his team.

All pumpkins, naturally colored and edible, are available for visitors to personally select and purchase as keepsakes from their visit. Despite the challenges, such as birds potentially pecking at the display, the mosaic holds its allure when viewed at a distance. To mitigate risks associated with weather, the farm has implemented a robust "all-weather" setup.

Visitors to Sunnyfields Farm can also admire "Hagrid," the enormous 2,639-pound pumpkin raised by neighbor Ian Paton. Just shy of the world record, this giant has its roots in Atlantic giant strains, distinct from standard field pumpkins. Tending to Hagrid meant daily watering and a minimal feeding regimen, while careful vine management facilitated its growth to peak at 70 pounds per day. Paton's dedication to breeding larger pumpkins underscores Sunnyfields Farm's commitment to both innovation and tradition in their seasonal celebrations.
