Man beats bride and guests at wedding - photos
A Florida man is behind bars after disrupting a wedding where he allegedly attacked the bride and knocked her to the ground.
SSPDaily tells about it.
According to an affidavit of arrest from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Rontay Stokes was arrested and charged with five counts of felony assault and one count of criminal damage after the incident in Largo on Saturday, February 24.
Stokes, who was a guest at the wedding, got into a verbal altercation with the bride and knocked her to the ground.
The relationship between Stokes and the bride was not immediately clear in the affidavit, nor was the reason for their conflict. However, the affidavit states that there was evidence that alcohol exposure played a role in the altercation.
The affidavit also accuses Rontay of grabbing a ceramic chair and throwing it through a glass door, breaking a chair leg and causing nearly $800 worth of damage.
Records show that Stokes was then escorted out of the building, but he allegedly punched and kicked several wedding guests, including his mother, niece, brother-in-law, and another guest who was leaving the venue.
Rontay, previously convicted of battery in 2014, remains in custody in the Pinellas County Jail on $30,000 bail.
