Ohio Couple Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize at Kentucky Restaurant

An Ohio couple's visit to a Kentucky restaurant led to an unexpected win of $100,000 in the lottery.

Steven Green from Alexandria shared with Kentucky Lottery officials that he and his wife, Wendy, often visit Lake Cumberland for boating trips. During their stays, they enjoy dining at Wings and Rings in Somerset.

On a recent visit to the restaurant, Green purchased a Keno ticket. He frequently plays Keno, usually sticking to a customary selection of 10 numbers based on family birthdays and ages. However, this time he decided to mix it up. He altered a few digits and opted for a $5 ticket instead of his usual $10.

Upon reviewing the ticket, Wendy Green exclaimed, "Oh my god, we hit a lot of numbers on this one." They asked a bartender to scan the ticket for confirmation.

After scanning, the bartender received a message that read, "See KLC Corp, prize exceeds cashing limit." This signaled the couple that they had won big. The ticket had matched 10 out of 20 numbers drawn in the Keno game, securing their incredible payout.

"I kind of yelled, '$100,000,'" Steve Green recalled. "I had goosebumps. It took about 10-15 minutes for it to sink in."

The Greens shared their excitement, noting that the lottery winnings would contribute to their savings for retirement.
