Record-holding Turkish Trick Shot Master Earns Third Guinness World Title
A basketball enthusiast from Turkey with a remarkable trick-shot talent has clinched his third Guinness World Records title. Osman Gürcü, aged 42, achieved this by making the farthest blindfolded basketball hook shot from an impressive 65 feet and 7 inches (20 meters) away, surpassing the prior record of 60 feet (18.28 meters), Guinness Records reported.
Gürcü, who competes on an over-40s basketball team, also boasts records for the farthest behind-the-backboard basketball shot at 36 feet, 1.07 inches (11 meters), and the longest basketball bounce shot, managing an incredible 98 feet, 5 inches (30 meters). His passion for basketball started young and led to his impressive knack for performing trick shots.
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Gürcü expressed his joy and pride to the Guinness World Records: "Since I was young I’ve been interested in trick shots like the longest distance shot, it was my dream to break a world record like this." He added, "I was very happy when I got the email from the Guinness World Records team saying I was Officially Amazing. I am very proud to be a record breaker and I have plans to break more."
