Travel Influencer Crawls into Small Tunnel to Show What is Inside Cairo's Red Pyramid
Join travel influencer Sam Mayfair as he takes us on a captivating journey back in time, exploring Cairo's Red Pyramid with its hidden secrets. With a rich cultural heritage and intriguing history, Ancient Egypt has always mesmerized people. This is prepared by SSP.
Egypt's third-largest pyramid, standing at an impressive 341 feet, the Red Pyramid is a marvel. Contrary to its name, it owes its reddish hue to the iron oxide in its limestone construction. Sam Mayfair, whose adventure was documented on TikTok (@sam.mayfair) for his 739k followers, eagerly shares the intriguing features of this pyramid.
The entrance may be modest, but Sam navigated through a narrow tunnel, measuring only 3 feet high and 4 feet wide. While wooden floors and railings for safety have been added, the tunnel itself stretches about 61 meters with a 27-degree incline. "Take a deep breath as you reach the end of the tunnel, where a 12-meter horizontal shaft awaits. Despite artificial air ventilation, it's still a tad stuffy," Sam explained.
Within the pyramid lie the first and second antechambers, leading to more significant rooms in Ancient Egyptian architecture. Sam was astonished by their soaring 40-feet high ceilings, growing in contrast to the tunnel's confinement. He observed that efforts were made at some point to expand the passageway, evident by the distinction between the upper and lower halves.
However, the main chamber, aligned east to west, holds a peculiar mystery. The absence of a floor suggests that treasure hunters may have looted the pyramid. Yet, Sam questions why they only expanded the first path while leaving the others unchanged, as well as the exit passageway.
Sam's exploration has left his viewers just as fascinated and perplexed. Many expressed their intrigue and gratitude for his willingness to venture into these historic sites. The mystery of the Red Pyramid continues to captivate, leaving us pondering the motivations of those who built it.
Concluding his exhilarating journey, Sam reminds us that while the Red Pyramid remains relatively under-researched, it remains a compelling destination for any enthusiast of pyramid phenomena. Embark on this remarkable adventure through time and unravel the enigma yourself.
